Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. What exactly might this be about--"High Life" "Job"? With "Cool" "Kiss," on the other hand, options for connotations are boundless. And "fact" "true" "fact," who wouldn't think of the biggest orange-maned tweet-machine there ever was. The relationship between text and visual form is the central theme of artist Natalie Czech, who was born in Neuss in 1976 and now lives in Berlin. In her various photographic work series, she explores the dynamic reciprocal effect of text and image. For her most recent seriesCigarette Ends, Natalie Czech has acquired numerous cigarette packets from the 1940s to the 1970s with such melodious names as "fact," "true," and "Kiss." She arranges the smoked cigarettes next to or one below the other on differently colored backgrounds and then takes photographs of them. The continuously visible names of the cigarettes on the banderoles combine to form minimalist poems. The small booklet assembles the existing works of the series Cigarette Ends to a good end. Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. Birgit Werres can do magic. She manages to transform a simple wire into a sweeping line in space, to unite a ball of tension belts in the dynamic and complex interplay of forms, colors, and textures of a cotton net. Playful and austere, her works unfold a dynamic in the space, which may be described by the fullness of movement of the Baroque just as much as by a minimalist decision that seeks to dispense with everything unnecessary and trusts in the potential of the material. Since the 1990s, the artist has been roaming the streets, construction sites, industrial wastelands, factories, and production facilities in search of materials for her sculptures and wall objects. For she practices recycling of an entirely different kind: metals, plastics, containers, wire, and indefinable "stuff." These are telling relics, remnants that bear traces of use, minimalist as well as beautiful! It carries a story within itself and at the same time becomes an object that assumes a new position. Heilbronn is home to an above average number of people with a migration background. Their share of the population is 50%. For her project, Wagner researched plants from the various countries of origin and then combined this information with migration statistics. Additional explanations and illustrations on the topic of migration are available via an app, as well as flyers. This book documents all foils, as well as the accompanying materials, and also includes deepening contributions. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Art, an emotional pieceIn 2015, Martin Creed realized a range of site-specific installations for the Kunstverein Heilbronn in the six large halls of the Kunsthalle Vogelman; the following year he did an equally site-specific presentation at Taxispalais in Innsbruck. These exhibitions were both premieres, in Germany as well as in Austria. Martin Creed does not settle for any medium in particular, he produces videos, paintings, sculptures and works in neon, and he makes music and stages ballet productions. The physical environment always plays an important role. In 2001, the London-based Scottish artist was awarded the prestigious Turner Prize, for a work that only consisted of regularly switching the light in a room on and off. What at first glance appears rather reduced, is highly relevant for the entire room and the visitors who move through it. Martin Creed's brilliant work on one hand appears playful and amazingly friendly, but the result is preemptory and rigorous. In a very personal interview, Martin Creed was asked why he made art. His answer was: to make myself feel better. This statement is as disarming as it is frank, and it challenges the viewer of his work to participate in the process of engaging with art, with space and with the world in general.Exhibitions: Kunstverein Heilbronn, 27/6-20/9/2015 Galerie im Taxispalais Innsbruck, 10/9-20/11/2016 Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
