Mogvntiae : Behem, 1581. 116 ff, 1 bl. ____ Un volume in 12 en plein veau estampé à froid, orné d un marli de personnages représentés de profil dans des médaillons en encadrement d un motif de feuillages stylisés, traces de fermoirs, dos à quatre nerfs portant les titres des différents textes inscrits à la plume dans les caissons, tranches rougies, une déchirure longitudinale dans la partie supérieure du dos. _____ Exlibris manuscrit : Ex librorum thesorum xisti agricolae alias Berverhein spalatini. Actum spaltae a virginii partus. 1581 Sixt agricola à publié en 1584 « Ingolstadt » le récit d un spectaculaire cas de possession d une femme nommée Appolonie qui sous l emprise du diable se nourrissait de boue et se désaltérait dans une marre en prétendant se repaître des meilleurs mets. Une provenance surprenante lorsque l on constate de ce recueil qu il contient deux textes de Cornelius de Loos qui fut le premier ecclésiastique à dénoncer officiellement la chasse aux sorcières. Cornelius de Loos (1546 1595) professeur de théologie, premier clerc catholique à dénoncer le procès du bûcher des sorcières c est en 1585 que De Loos put assister à trêves à plusieurs procès en sorcellerie, en 1592, il décida de publier un placet « De vera et faussia magia » (de la vrai et fausse magie) dans lequel il dénonçait la sauvagerie et l iniquité de ces pratiques. Arrêté avant même la publication de son ouvrage, il faut emprisonner et dut se rétracter publiquement. Particulièrement visé par le prédicateur Del Rio, il passât le reste de sa vie victime de ses persécutions. Il décéda en 1595 de la peste ce qui fit dire à Del Rio « que son plus vif regret était de n avoir pas pu le faire brûler vif ». Le manuscrit de l extraordinaire dénonciation de De Loos que l on croyait définitivement perdu fut retrouvé et publiée au XIXe siècle. Il y dénonce avec vigueur la validation de superstitions absurdes et la nature des aveux obtenus sous la torture. À la lecture de ce texte, on s aperçoit qu à la fin du XVIe siècle certains esprits éclairés avaient parfaitement saisi la cruelle absurdité de la chasse aux sorcières.
