Orange-red cloth over boards with blue and gilt titles; jacket is blue and orange with orange titles. Spine head shows some slight fading and a small brown dot; hinges just slightly loose, but sturdy; very slight water bleed from colored cloth along the bottom front corners of front endpapers; age toning in the hinge areas of both front and rear endpapers; Signed "Louis Ginsberg" on the front free endpaper (it looks authentic, but we have not yet been able to verify it). This first book by the father of the late Allen Ginsberg is dedicated to Louis' wife Naomi, of "Kaddish" fame. A second volume of poetry would not appear for another 33 years, when MORNING IN SPRING AND OTHER POEMS was published in 1970 -- with an introduction by Allen. Scarce in jacket. Signed by Author. About this Item: William Morrow / (Apollo Editions), New York, 1970. Softcover. Condition: Very good +. First Paperback edition. Octavo, 125pp. A very good or better copy in the publisher's printed wraps. Very mild edgewear with a few gentle creases at the base of the spine, else a nice, stiff copy. SIGNED on the half-title by both the author and his son (Allen Ginsberg). Allen added, characteristically, a small flower at the end of his last name. Matches all points in the Morgan bibliography for the first paperback edition (B69; a2). It was published the same day as the hardcover edition (though most collectors would still consider the hardcover to be the "true first"). A nice copy, ideal for a Ginsberg completist, as we found no other paperback copies of this title signed by both father and son at the time of this listing. Seller Inventory # 1863
