Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Louis Napoléon Le Roux (1890 ? 1944) was a Breton nationalist who lived in Ireland in the period after the 1916 Easter Rising. At the time of his death in London, he was private secretary to Harold Macmillan. This book was originally written in French. The translator had himself known Pearse, of whom he wrote the first life, and advised Le Roux on this work. With back and white photographs. The covers are damp stained, but the contents are bright and clean. It is tightly bound.

Green cloth binding with black lettering on the spine. Bright, fresh text. Although Phoenix is listed as the publisher, the dustwrapper is from Talbot Press and noted as a "New Cheap Edition." This is an extremely scarce volume, particularly with the dustwrapper present. No date, but can be identified with the 1932 edition from Talbot. Olive-green wrapper is also bright and fresh, with some minor wrinkling and a 1/4" chip from the head of the spine. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Thus.
