About this Item: [New Orleans, LA]: Eugene E. Loving, [no date, circa 1950-1960]., 1960. Sheet approx. H 22.75cm x L 18.5cm with image dimensions approx. H 18.5cm x L 13.5cm. Still taped to original plain cardboard matte. "World Wide Bazaar | 635 St. Peter St. | New Orleans 16, LA." stamped at very bottom of sheet blank's verso and onto bottom margin of matte's verso. Handwritten blue ballpoint ink title and signature "Green Shutter Patio | E.E. Loving" also on matte's bottom margin verso. Matte's front side toned. Appears to be a hand-colored woodblock. Colors remain vibrant with bluish-green doorways and window shutters and predominately orange brickwork of house against gray flagstones at base and verdant green foliage predominately along left side. Jpegs provided upon request. Image is undated but ballpoint signature and pre-zip code address hints at circa 1950 to 1960. Eugene E. Loving (1908-1971) was a noted streetscape artist and illustrator in New Orleans's Vieux Carre for years and was a student and friend of Morris Henry Hobbs (1892-1967). The Green Shutter cottage at 710 St. Peter Street was a famous tearoom and restaurant which operated from the 1920s to circa 1960s. Seller Inventory # D17-3888

Colors remain vibrant; features orange and brown brickwork for ground along with gray walls and red winding staircase set in alcove, ground-level doors and second floor wood portico painted in green with several hanging plants.
