About this Item: G. P. Putnam & Sons, New York, 1871. Hardcover. 110pp. Sextodecimo [18.5 cm] Brownish red cloth over boards with a gilt stamped title and double blind ruled borders on the front cover. Good plus. The spine and edges of the covers are sunned. The cloth at the spine ends is frayed, and there is a 1/2" split in the cloth at the foot of the spine. There is a contemporary owner's brief inscription on the front free endsheet. The text block is cracked here and there, however it is still very sturdy. Written by a member of The Academy of Fine Arts of Amsterdam. Approved by M. Eugene Delacroix, for teaching painting in oils and water-colors. Translated from the Third French Edition.
