An occasional poem is preceded by a prose explanation by Masefield. This collection of his works is the first book published after his appointment as Poet Laureate This is copy 15 of a limited edition of 375 copies for sale in Great Britain and Ireland. John Maesfield has signed the limitation page. Note that this copy's LEAVES ARE ENTIRELY UNOPENED. Top edge of the text block is trimmed and gilt, fore and tail edges untrimmed. The publisher's silk ribbon marker is attached at the head.This large 8vo book is 9 1/4" x 6" and has 256 pp. of cream-colored paper. Printed at Heinemann's Windmill Press, Kingswood, Surrey, England, where the company did its fine presswork. Silk marker ribbon attached. Bound in brown, polished linen over beveled boards. Gilt title to spine and gilt floral device to front. In most of a ratty example of the publisher's thin mylar and cardstock wrapper. These works are perfect material for a themed, group recitation, poetry party. Gilt bright, sharp cornered, clean, and in better that Very Good condition.
