Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. ## TELEPHONES and MICROPHONES by Percival Marshall circa 1900's -- The Model Engineer Series No.4 Fully Illistrated ## ## THIS BOOK: Classified VERY GOOD: This Book is the circa1900 sixteenth edition. There is a wealth of information on TELEPHONES and MICROPHONES. This book has fantastic information on the early telephones and microscopes, with illustrations written by people of the day. This book is adding to historical data.## The book has some wear, and the staples are rusty. However, the book has been stapled without removing the original staples, and the 9d on the cover has been penned over. ## ## THIS little book is intended mainly for the guidance of the amateur electrician who wishes to make and fix his telephones. Therefore, the purely technical aspects of the subject are not treated at any great length. The instruments described, however, are all of a substantial and practical character and will be found to give satisfactory results if the instructions and drawings are carefully adhered to. ## ## The hints on fault location and the notes in Chapter VII on switching systems and special circuit arrangements will enable the amateur to successfully deal with the difficulties usually attached to this side of the subject. Much of the matter in this book has already found a place in the columns of The Model Engineer, and it is hoped that in its present revised and collected form, it will be found more serviceable and accessible. In selecting and arranging the contents, the endeavour has been to include sufficient information to enable the reader to construct and install all the apparatus necessary for the usual domestic or workshop telephonic requirements, and, despite the necessarily limited space, it is hoped that the object has been satisfactorily accomplished. ##.
