Illustrated by Mary LaFetra Russell. "Linen" -- on front wrapper. Printed on linen-back paper, except for wrapper which is printed directly on the linen on the inside of the wrappers with color-illustrated paper on the outside. Old repair in which a strip of white silk was applied to the spine. One seven-verse poem is printed on the inside of the front and back wrapper about Mother Goose, her son Jack, and a goose. The remaining 12 pages each contain one full-page color illustration accompanied by one verse of a familiar Mother Goose or other children's rhyme. Mary LaFetra Russell's illustrations feature charming children, many wearing curious circular clothing. In Fair Condition: old repair, as described; wrappers are soiled and edges rubbed, with minor loss at corners; fraying at corners; finger soiling along edges, light on most pages, heavy on one, but not impacting illustration; loss of paper on two pages, impacting the verses but not the illustrations.

Some soilage on cover, with minor creases to stiff wraps. Back cover has girl's name in crayon in a corner, and two other very small scribbles inside, neither significantly detracting. A very nice copy.
