Condition: Near Fine. Complete original artwork by Albert Michini, including the dust jacket cover art and 13 interior illustrations from the anthology edited by Elizabeth Sechrist. Pen and ink drawings on gessoed artists' boards measuring 16" x 20" (cover art) and 7½" x 10" (full-page drawings). Very lightly soiled, with a few production notes and captions in the margins, just about fine, all with protective paper sleeves. The jacket cover art of a giant cat also has two photographic overlays: one is black, and the other, representing the dark blue background, is colored red. The drawings illustrate this anthology of 13 Yarns by Mark Twain, Washington Irving, Poe, Kipling, and others. The complete suite of drawings for this newly illustrated revised edition was first published by Macrae Smith in 1942 and reissued in 1963. Accompanied by a good ex-library copy of the 1963 edition of book in very good dust jacket for comparison.
