Columna 10 was a magazine of political intervention supported by three intellectuals: the mathematicians Mischa Cotlar (1912-2007), Cora Rato (1912-1981) and the architect Francisco Bullrich (1929-2011). None of them signed articles in the magazine by adopting the strategy of a selection and thematic presentation of texts collected from the international press, the editors decided to speak indirectly, through their compendiums and their translations, accompanied by brief presentations. It was a magazine of scientists and university professors involved in diverse ways with the problems of social responsibility and political commitment of men and women of science. His favorite topics were the intervention of the United States in Third World countries (from Santo Domingo to Viet-Nam, passing through the Camelot Plan), colonial domination and the decolonization processes in Asia and Africa, the purges of writers and dissidents in the Soviet Union, the impact of science and technology on international politics. The cover titles, highlighted on a horizontal strip that appeared in a different color in each issue"Santo Domingo," "Vietnam," "Plan Camelot," "Conflicts in Asia," "In Latin America," "Latin America and the United States", "Neocolonialism" and "Desertion in Viet-Nam"offer a good approximation to its theme and its program. The magazine is interrupted with number 9, corresponding to May 1966, the coup d'état of June 28, 1966 made its continuity impossible. Furthermore, after the episode of the following July 29 known as "the Night of the Long Canes" (the eviction by the General Directorate of Urban Order of the Argentine Federal Police of five faculties of the University of Buenos Aires), Mischa Cotlar He went into exile in Montevideo and Cora Ratto was forced to resign from her professorship at the Faculty of Exact Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. It was financed by Francisco Bullrich and it is likely that the sober and careful design of its pages was also his work. It regularly maintained its small format (9.50 x 20 cm) and its design throughout its 9 numbers and 8 issues . Tarcus p53. B1.
