Originally published in the US by Dutton in 1958. Boards have bumping to spine and corners. Page edges and endpapers are lightly browned but pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. Jacket has some chipping and creasing to spine and corners. There is a half-inch closed tear to the bottom edge of the front panel. There is a narrow inch long section missing from the top edge of the rear pane with some chipping and a little loss at the top of the spine. Two small closed tears at the base of the spine. The rear panel has a faint brown stain and the edges of the jacket have been reinforced with small pieces of tape to the reverse. First printing. Jacket illustration by Denis McLoughlin.
