"Martin Munkacsi changed the look and style of fashion photography in the 1930's. The legendary Harper's Bazzar photographer set new standards for fashion photography. Models ran on beaches, perched on rooftops and catapulted into the air. He was the first to take models out of the studio, photograph the rain and use dramatic angle shots. This book is the result of four years of research into the photographer and his work." Very good in very good dust jacket with a short closed , internally repaired dust jacket.

A slight bump at the crown and a small scrape to the front wrapper, else very good. Munkacsi's early work as a cinematographer carried over to his still photography. Hardcover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. 1st Edition. The volume, published by the famous photographer Martin Munkacsi (1896-1963), presents six cliches of his sports, actors, politicians and street scenes in Allemagne and Hong Kong at the end of the 1920s and 1930s, considered as the hallmarks of a new style of liberte capable to capture the life and movement of the modern era. Beautiful collection of these photographs that were published in the hebdomadaires allemands, thanks to Munkacsi's creation of his own reputation in his consecrated reportages, often mentioned in some exotic novels. Starting in 1933, Munkacsi used his energetic style mainly in the cadre of fashion photography, particularly in immortalizing the mannequins practiced on the beach. The photos were finally collected in one single publication, which revolutionized fashion photography with an informal character and great vitality consecrating the reputation of the photographer in New York.
