Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st American. 432 page hardcover with numerous illustrations. The American edition of an English book used for home education. Period cloth binding is worn at corners and edges - title on spine in gold - just good condition. Interior has some foxing on just a few pages - otherwise, unmarked, tight and clean. Overall good condition.

Exterior is original and untreated, so the leather is powdery along with quite a bit a scuffing and soiling. The internal binding of the text portion of the pages is good but there is some cracking at the end pages and boards. Pages show various degrees of toning and foxing, some pages are brighter than some are quite dark - with the title page being the worst. The only handwriting found in the book is at the top of the preface where the name William Proctor is penned. Please note: this is volume 2 only and appears to contain 25 weeks of lessons.
