O de un escritor inglés cuya militancia en el POUM durante la guerra no solo cambió su vida, sino que condicionó su posterior producción literaria. Hemos introducido aspectos actuales: la repercusión internacional que tuvo la película de Ken Loach, o el regreso de las cenizas de la compañera de Nin al pueblo donde este nació e inició su militancia. Sin olvidarnos de la crítica que merecen los revisionistas de izquierda que siguen maltratando al POUM con argumentos claramente neoestalinistas. O el papel del POUM en el combate de las ideas. Cien años después es evidente que las perspectivas no se cumplieron, que la Unión Soviética surgida de la revolución desapareció en los inicios de la última década del siglo. En España el triunfo de la revolución rusa fue recibido con entusiasmo entre muchos sectores populares y durante muchos años la URSS fue un referente inevitable. De alguna manera, su historia sigue siendo un referente inexcusable desde el momento en el que se plantean otras alternativas al ultra-capitalismo vigente y a sus consecuencias. En el presente libro se recogen una serie de artículos, centrados en las implicaciones de la revolución de octubre en Rusia con las luchas de la clase obrera en España. Implicaciones que no se limitaron al territorio específico del estado español, sino que llegaron a la propia Rusia, que en muchos casos acabó convirtiéndose en una auténtica Meca de revolucionarios españoles como Andreu Nin y Joaquín Maurín que desde su correspondencia traslucen las tensiones y dificultades del momento. Por ello, además de los artículos que se centran específicamente en las repercusiones inmediatas de la revolución rusa en España, hemos querido recoger otros aspectos no menos importantes, que pasan desde el carácter utópico en el arte en el tiempo que precede al oscuro apogeo del estalinismo, el papel del partido bolchevique o la última hazaña protagonizada por Lenin antes de morir para evitar la inevitable burocratización. Sin olvidarnos de la abundante bibliografía sobre la cuestión y de sus variantes cinematográficas generadas paralelamente por la Unión Soviética y por Hollywood. El volumen se cierra con dos artículos de Andreu Nin, que vivió desde dentro la revolución rusa entre 1921 y 1930. Una de sus virtudes fue siempre este compromiso con la realidad inmediata que le tocó vivir. Víctor Serge.
