Printed and bound in Munich, Germany. 11.5 x 8.25 inches. Fully-illustrated wrappers, with wrappers lightly soiled. Unbumped spine head and tail, and with sharp corners. Also includes a list of the photographer's exhibitions, collections, books and publications, and a selected bibliography. A Very Good copy. 11 oz. This is a catalogue for an exhibition held January 19 to February 25, 1996, at Kunst-Station Sankt Peter Köln [Saint Peter's Art Station, Cologne]. Timothy Greenfield-Sanders [b. 1952] is an American documentary filmmaker and portrait photographer based in New York City. The majority of his work is shot in large format. "St. Peter's [in Cologne, Germany] is the art station, a unique place in the world for dialogue between faith and liturgy with contemporary art and new music. The late Gothic church space, which has repeatedly found new forms over the centuries, is now largely free of images and pews - an empty space of spirituality. Contemporary artists are constantly redesigning this emptiness with their creative power. Their works, which they entrust to the congregation for a certain period of time, confront people with existential questions and inspire the lives of believers in worship.". Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Ive always had a sense of humor about my work. It amuses me to think that someone looking at one of these paintings might think, Peter Halley has finally given up and become an abstract painter. Peter HalleyPeter Halley: Cell Grids immerses us in the colorful staging of the eponymous 202122 exhibition curated by Peter Doroshenko at Dallas Contemporary. This publication, Doroshenko observes, aims to elucidate the true essence of Halleys Cell Grid paintings through thoughtful interpretation, unlocking the complex interplay between the visual and the conceptual in his work. According to art critic and historian Barry Schwabsky, the exhibited artworks, realized between 2015 and 2021, mark a new phasewhich time will reveal as either a momentous shift or ultimately a continuationin the career of Halley, a protagonist of contemporary abstract and geometric painting.
