Double-sided foldout road map of Mississippi. Ex-library copy per presence of two unobtrusive library stamps on text side. Total of 16 panels per side. Approximate unfolded dimensions: H 18 inches x L 28.25 inches. Several short tears and minor chips; map no longer adheres to original fold lines as several are displaced by extraneous creasing. Full-length color state map on verso showing paved and unpaved state highways (in the FAP - Federal-aid primary highway system and FAS - Federal-aid secondary highway system), county borders, cities and towns, etc. Legend key includes a symbol for federal interstate routes but none are demarcated. Legend does include a list of state parks including a "Negro only" park near Grenada. Map title provides date of January 1, 1958 so presumably published within the same year. Text side features some color photographs and other illustrations accompanying blurbs regarding state history, agriculture, industry, mileage table, etc.

Double-sided foldout road map of Mississippi. Total of 16 panels per side. Approximate unfolded dimensions: H 32.5 inches x L 21.5 inches. Full-length color state map on verso showing counties, cities, towns, U.S. Routes, state routes, and interstates with color-coded paved and unpaved primary roads, secondary roads, county roads, etc. "Paul McSwain" credited at map's bottom left corner so presumably he served as the map's cartographer/illustrator. Reverse side features color photographs of state landmarks/tourist attractions with some text regarding travel info, fishing lakes, dates in history, etc. Map remains bright and clean as issued and is still laid-in its original white postally unused mailing envelope (which does have some toning/foxing) with address side having top left corner printed notation "'64" over notation "Your Official | 1963 Mississippi State | Highway Map | Compliments | State Highway Commission | Jackson, Mississippi." Thus presumably the map is a 1964 edition.
