Not the true first edition, but a new edition, which according to the back cover, includes for the first time, six sketches made by Patrick Leigh Fermor from the time he spent with the author. The covers are bright with a little crease to the spine, very tiny and minor curl to tips first few pages. Hint of a lean but overall, very good. Contents: lightly read with very light crinkling to front page and tiny age spots to spine end of title page. Some black and white photographs. George Psyhoundakis was not only a shepherd and writer, he was a war hero having been a Greek Resistance fighter during the Second World War.
