Consisting of a collection of more than 58 engraved plates and folding maps (one coloured) of the Holy Land and Middle East for reference to the American theologian Albert Barnes' Notes on the New Testament: Explanatory and practical, Vol 11, Book of Revelation [mid 1850s]. Fine condition throughout and with Berwick's manuscript Index dated May 9th 1860. The first map is: "Palestine in the time of our Saviour" (12in. by 8in.) and finely printed by London publisher Blackie (the same publisher of Barnes' Notes, in England). Another map illustrates the "Voyages and Travels of St. Paul" and another: "Northern Italy, the Scenes of the Devastations of Attila. or the Third Trumpet and Third Vial". There is a map of Candia (Crete) and 8 others; a plan of Jerusalem along with 10 others; and 53 engraved scenes of Greece, Italy and the Middle East. All in Fine condition throughout.
