This copy is bright, tight, white and square. There is a neat dated inscription to the f.e.p. The price clipped dust wrapper has some spotting and some mild edge wear so best described as near fine condition. A MOTTLED green hardback with marks and bronzing to spine 3 and 8cm splits to outer upper hinges, chips to spine-ends, frays to corners, worn spine-plate, needs attention. Owner's ink stamp in sveral paces on pages, otherwise clean and sound. Looks mid-Victorian.

Scarce title - very good clean firm interior for the age, no usage marks but does have occasional faint/minor age specks, contains a frontispiece illustration with tissue-guard, marbled design to e/papers and page block, inscribed personal bookplate to front e/paper, contains 40 black and white illustrations; boards could possibly be leather (?) decorated and tooled to spine area and bright gilt decoration to front, a few shelf wear scratches and surface marks but decent appearance for the publish date overall and all tight and firm.
