Largely near-fine, with some small white marks to the base of the spine of the final volume. Harry Potter's wizarding adventures have had an unrivalled impact on popular culture today; indeed, some have referred to adults between the ages of roughly 20-30 years old as 'the Harry Potter generation'. Harry Potter is a series of many genres, including fantasy, bildungsroman, and the British school story (which includes elements of mystery, thriller, adventure, and romance). According to Rowling, the main theme of the books is death - although prejudice, corruption, and madness can be seen as dominant motifs. Seller Inventory # 49555

That is until an owl turns up with a letter addressed to Harry and all hell breaks loose! He is literally rescued by a world where nothing is as it seems and magic lessons are the order of the day. Read and find out how Harry discovers his true heritage at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, the reason behind his parents mysterious death, who is out to kill him, and how he uncovers the most amazing secret of all time, the fabled Philosopher's Stone! All this and muggles too. Now, what are they? This is Jo's first book and she has already written seven outlines for Harry's further adventures at Hogwarts. Seller Inventory # 10500

About this Item: London: Bloomsbury 2005–7, 2005. 7 individually published works, octavo. Original pictorial paper-covered boards. With the dust jackets. A fine set. Each book in this complete set of the Harry Potter novels is inscribed by the author on the title page, with the first six inscribed "To Louisa, J. K. Rowling", and the final book inscribed "To Louisa, with love, J. K. Rowling". The set is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Fiddy Henderson, Rowling's personal assistant, dated 21 August 2005. The first six books were sent together and the set was completed when Deathly Hallows was published in 2007; the latter book also bears the publisher's holograph sticker authenticating the signature. The set consists of mixed editions: Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows are first editions, the earlier works later impressions. It is unusual to encounter a complete set inscribed to the same recipient. Collectively, the seven Harry Potter books have sold nearly 500 million copies since the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 1997, making Harry Potter the bestselling book series of all time. Some estimates suggest that only The Bible and The Red Book have sold more copies than the series. The books have been translated into more than 70 languages, making them some of the most translated works of literature in history. Errington A13(a), A14(a). Seller Inventory # 118747

About this Item: Bloomsbury, London, 1997. Hard Cover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. First Edition. HARDBACK - SECOND IMPRESSION - The book is in fine condition. The boards are immaculate with no colour fading to the front and rear boards, or to the spine. There is no laminate lifting, with the spine tips free of any bumping, as are the books corners. There is a very faint crease line to the rear panel, which is almost certainly a production fault, as the book is an unread example. The inner text is very clean with just a little light foxing to the page edges. The book has been signed by the author via a book plate to the half title page. The signature is a very early, and rare example from circa 1997. The signature is quite different from her later signing style. with spacing between the J and K lettering. The book is the very rare second impression published only a month after the first edition, with the all important review by Wendy Cooling to the base of the front board. The book is an unread example in outstanding condition. Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 001064

About this Item: Bloomsbury, 1997. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. JK Rowling (1997) ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone‘. UK first edition, third printing published by Bloomsbury, London. Signed and inscribed ‘to Ronald with best wishes [signature]’. The book comes with a PSA certificate of authenticity. PSA is an independent professional autograph authentication agency. How PSA has authenticated and certified this book can bee seen in our picture no. 3 (picture of the CoA letter). The condition of the book is fine and very close to mint. There are no previous owners’ scribbles of any sorts, no stamps, no stickers. Internally immaculate. The boards are clean, corners sharp as seen. Paper block edges clean and no foxing whatsoever. No rubbing. An exceptional copy. We supply two first state dust jackets with this book, and both wrappers display the young wizard as called for. The first dust jacket is flawless except it is faded on the spine as shown. The second dust jacket which is absolutely identical to the first specimen retains its vibrant colour on the spine, but has some light edge wear. Both jackets show the correct price of GBP 10.99 and the Bloomsbury logo as called for. The dust jackets from printing three through seventeen were identical and were then changed to an old Dumbledore with a long white beard. So absolutely perfect wrappers can be obtained at reasonable cost. Famously the first edition print run was only 500 copies of which 300-350 went straight to libraries. As a result first edition copies in fine condition without library stamps fetch a high five-number sum these days. According to Philip Errington’s ‘J.K. Rowling: A Bibliogarphy’, the second printing followed quickly with a run of 1,000 copies, followed by the third printing of 500 copies only (p.4). The third printing was significant as it was the first printing which included a dust jacket. The difficulty consists in finding copies in fine condition or close to it as initially the collectible market did not pay much attention to the book and most copies ended up with children who read and reread the book dozens of times and handled the book accordingly. This is the book which started the global Harry Potter phenomenon. Highly sought after and a landmark book that will always hold its value especially considering that J.K. Rowling does not sign any Harry Potter books anymore bar for charity. First and Fine. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # ABE-1521378475912

About this Item: London: Bloomsbury, 1997 & 1998, 1998. 2 volumes, octavo. Philosopher's Stone in original pictorial wrappers, Smarties sticker to front cover, issued without a dust jacket. Chamber of Secrets in original pictorial boards, with the dust jacket. Philosopher's Stone slightly faded at spine, covers slightly creased, light creasing to top corners of some pages; a very good copy. Chamber of Secrets lightly bumped at spine ends, small mark to fore edge, a couple of marks to front free endpaper and half-title; an excellent copy in the dust jacket, lightly faded at spine panels with very slight creasing at spine panel ends. First edition, first impression of the Chamber of Secrets, first edition, eleventh impression of Philosopher's Stone, both inscribed by the author for Iain Dallas at a signing when he was a nine-year old-boy. He had written various spellings of his name in pencil on the title page of Philosopher's Stone: "Iain / Eoin Dallas / Ian Dallas / Ean Dallas". Rowling, upon seeing this, inscribed the title page of Philosopher's Stone "To Ian (not Eoin / Ian or Ean) with best wishes J. K. Rowling". Continuing the theme, she then inscribed the copy of Chamber of Secrets on the front free endpaper, "To Iain (how about Eeyan?) J. K. Rowling". A charmingly inscribed set of books, showing Rowling clearly enjoying interacting with her young fans, at a time when her fame was rapidly growing. Errington A1(a), A2(a). Seller Inventory # 123527

About this Item: Bloomsbury, 1998. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. J.K. Rowling (1998) ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by Rowling: “to Nicola, who is one of the first to have read this – so I’m flattered! [signature]”. One of the most exciting first edition copies on the market with such an unusual inscription! Condition: very good in a very good dust jacket. The book has been read and shows usual signs of shelf wear as pictured. The dust jacket is in very good shape as well with minimal edge wear. It is not price clipped. This is the second book in the seminal Harry Potter series that took the world by storm causing Potter-mania everywhere. According to the publisher and printer (Clays Ltd), only 706 copies made up the first print run (see Philip W. Errington (2007) ‘J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography’, pp. 65-67). Many online sources claim 10,000 copies were printed, by Errington's research contradicts this. 'Chamber of Secrets' won the British Children Book of the Year Award in 1998 following Rowling’s success with ‘Philosopher’s Stone’ in 1997. Adapted as a movie in 2002. First and Fine. About this Item: Sphere, 2013. Hardcover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. 1st Edition. First edition, first printing of debut crime novel by Robert Galbraith, secretly written by J K Rowling. First book in a what is projected to be a long running crime series of at least 7 novels. The secrecy around J K Rowling's authorship was very tight at the publishers with only Rowling, her editor and agent knowing the true identity of the author, thus the print run for the first edition was very small indeed, reportedly as low as just 1500 copies! Therefore first editions of this title are quite possibly the rarest of all J K Rowling books, second only to Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone. This is the true first edition with all the required identifying points—It is does not have any re-print statement on the copyright page, denoting its first print status. The jacket features 2 quotes by Mark Billingham and Mark Gray and contains a biography of Robert Galbraith that does not mention J K Rowling. A street lamp illustration is also present on the rear of the jacket. These three issue points are only present on first printings and this copy has all these points! What makes this book stand out from all the rest is it has been signed in person by J. K. Rowling, using her pseudonym Robert Galbraith at the Harrogate Crime Festival 2014. It was a noteworthy event as it was her first public appearance as Robert Galbraith. The Goldsboro exclusive signed copies were signed to tip in title pages and do not bear the hologram. In contrast, This book was signed by J. K. Rowling in person and has the all important hologram. Probably only a handful of first printings of this title bear this hologram making them very desirable. In addition, the event ticket will be included as well as the festival programme. New and unread in fine condition.************PACKED IN A BOX WITH PLENTY OF PROTECTION AND SENT TRACKED POSTAGE. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # ABE-10661834799

About this Item: Bloomsbury 1999-2007, London, 1999. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. First Edition. The first printings of the deluxe editions of the (at the time) full Harry Potter series. Clothbound with pictorial onlays, all edges gilt; fine without dust jackets, as issued. The Azkaban, which was the first volume published in a British deluxe edition (Philosopher's Stone and Chamber being issued in a deluxe edition retroactively) had the smallest printing, (reportedly 7000 copies) and names "Joanne Rowling" rather than "J.K. Rowling" on the copyright page. Here together with the collector's edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard [London: Children's High Level Group, 2008]. The leatherbound Beedle is in a drawstring bag, which, with ten illustrations by Rowling, are housed together in a large box made to look like a textbook, which is contained in the publisher's sleeve. Also included is the Sotheby's catalog for the auction of one of seven copies of the manuscript of Beedle the Bard, with an introduction by Rowling. Since the time of the last deluxe edition's release, the Harry Potter franchise has expanded with the completion of the 8-film series (with an additional three-movie prequel having debuted in 2016); original Rowling content on the Pottermore website; two Wizarding World theme parks; and a two-part stage play sequel (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), which premiered in London, the script of which was released as the eighth book in the series.
