Unusual correspondence including letters from Voltaire, Oliver Cromwell to his secretary, writer Horace Walpole to a female correspondent, Queen Elizabeth, etc. including an Apothecary's bill. CONDITION: Half bound tan leather, marbled boards, gilt title within red label on hubbed spine. Very slight corner and edge wear, binding sound. Yellow/cream/blue/pink marbled endpapers. Owner's inscription dated 1916, Paris on back of title page. Frontispiece, Index, 155 pp. followed by two pages of publisher's advertisements. Evenly age-toned leaves. Very good condition. Full refund if not satisfied.
