Condition: Fine, both books. 1st printing. A unique and remarkable pair of collectible books; the first book is the author-inscribed printed edition (to Ruth Rose-- who might enjoy some of these outbursts of moods and observations - see page 23. Nada Spiroff Stanley 1947) but with each of the ten b/w 1920s-style drawings beautifully hand-colored in watercolors; the second book consists of the original typed draft of the book in loose signatures that also include pencil sketches of the drawings, all in a nicely hand-made binding of black cloth boards - apparently by the author herself. This pair of books clearly shows the before-and-after versions of a poet*s vision. Together they make a lovely and touching collectible that goes way beyond rare. Both books 6-1/4 x 9, 95 pp, full-page b/w dwgs (hand-colored). Both books in black cloth boards, the printed one w gilt illustration; no jackets as issued.
