Book Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good(+). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Black boards with silver foil lettering on spine, and ¼ inch blemish on board. Signed and inscribed by author on end page "May, 2009 Compliments of Ed Randolph, All the Best, Steve Davidowitz" 324 pp tight and clean with no markings. Unclipped dust jacket in Very Good(+) condition with one tiny 1 inch tear at top corner "Who's the fastest 3-year-old fily, the best jockey, or the sharpest horseplayer of the modern year? Steve Davidowitz, who has seen and known them all, answers these provocative questions and dozens more, but that's just the beginning of the opinions and observers in THE BEST AND WORST OF THOROUGHBRED RACING. Davidowitz, a veteran reporter, columnist, and handicapper who has worked and gambled at racetracks from coast to coast, is a passionate lover of the racing game-and an equally passionate critic of its shortcomings. In addition to starting and settling arguments about the sport's most talented people and racehorses, Davidowitz takes aim at its rascals and reprobates and at an industry that too often fails to address and resolve its most troubling issues." The book is a SIGNED AND DATED copy from the author, Steven Davidowitz. Signed by Author. Inscribed by Author(s).

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Black & brown hardcover with photo illustrated dust jacket all in very good condition. The dust jacket is very lightly rubbed. Inscribed by Richie Havens on half title page "To Eric A Friend Forever, Richie Havens". In this warm, highly personal narrative, Richie Havens recounts a musical career that began on the streets of Bed-Stuy and matured amidst the creative explosion that was Greenwich Village in the sixties. A few photo illustrations. Index. 331 pages. Inscribed by Author(s).
Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. Signed by the author, RIchie Havens. 8vo (6.25 x 9.5 in.). Quarter-bound, black & brown paper, stamped gilt titling on spine. In solid condition. However, there is a stress wrinkle on the bottom edge of the spine in rear. It doesn't effect the book's structural integrity but is noticeable (see photo). The dust jacket shows the same wrinkling. All pages are clean, no stains, notes, etc. This is an engaging memoir, showing Havens to be a bright, positive artist. There's even a small section with photos of him explaining his unique guitar style. He signed "A friend. Richie Havens" in a free space on the title page. This is a good copy of a collectible book. Signed by Author(s).
