Er war größtenteils Autodidakt und neben seinen Jagd- und Reitszenen vor allem berühmt für seine Darstellung von Hunderassen, hauptsächlich Setters und Pointers.- Unser Blatt zeigt drei Reiter bei einem Steeplechase, deren Pferde über einen Holzzaun und einen Wassergraben springen. Etwas abgeschlagen dahinter ein weiterer Reiter.- Kräftiger Abzug, außerhalb der Darstellung gering fleckig, linke Ecke verso gering wasserrandig.
