Good+ Original Collectible Rare Merlin Book 1849 Welsh Arthurian Myrddin Merlin Ballad. Eight Page Chap Book in it's original form from the most famous of the wandering 19thc. Welsh poets and satirists Thomas Edwards called 'Twm O Nant.' This is Welsh Myrddin Prophecies and the Life of the famed Myrddin/ Merlin of Arthurian legend. Besides Geoffrey of Monmouth influence, the oral Celtic tradition survived in these Welsh 'street' poets one could equate to a modern 'Rapper,' as opposed to a University Chaired Poet or Court Bard. like Taliesin who satirizes in Elis Gruffydd's Hanes Taliesin and even earlier in "Spoils Of Annwn" monks and Court Poets. Twm 's two main characteristics, his ready wit and his facility in versification, account for many a scathing passage in his works, and also for the fact that some of his verses remained in the popular memory for generations.
