(Verlagstext) Hans Ticha (* 2. September 1940 in Tetschen) ist ein deutscher Maler, Grafiker und Buchillustrator. Schon mit 19 Jahren gestaltete er sein erstes Buch. Daneben malte er und gestaltete Grafiken. Ticha arbeitete für fast alle maßgeblichen Verlage der DDR (Mitteldeutscher Verlag, Neue Welt, Verlag der Nation, Aufbau, Kinderbuchverlag Berlin) und war durch Ausgaben der Büchergilde Gutenberg auch im Westen vertreten und gestaltete so mehr als 90 Bücher. In Auseinandersetzung mit den Stilmitteln der Pop-Art innerhalb der sozialistischen Gesellschaft und ihrer Propaganda-Bilder verändert er den revolutionären Begriff "Agit-Prop" (Agitation und Propaganda) zu "Agit-Pop". Neben der Pop-Art gehören zu seinen Vorbildern Fernand Léger, die Maler des Bauhauses wie Oskar Schlemmer und Willi Baumeister, sowie der russische Konstruktivismus.
