Condition: Very good. Quarto. Pictorial wrappers. Black and white production stills and portraits, biographies of the performers and principals of the production. Neatly detached from wrapper at upper staple, some small spots on lower wrapper, else very good. A theatrical program for this musical written specifically to showcase the Las Vegas at of Sammy Davis, Jr. by Joseph Stein and Will Glickman, with the music and lyrics by Jerry Bock, Larry Holofcener, and George David Weiss. The Broadway production, staged by Jack Donahue, opened 22 March 1956 at The Broadway Theatre, where it ran for 383 performances. In addition to the spotlighted Davis, Jr., the cast included his father Sammy Sr., and uncle Will Mastin (who together with Davis, Jr. had performed as the Will Mastin Trio), Jack Carter, Chita Rivera, Kay Medford, and others.

Draft script for the 1956 Broadway musical, which opened at the Broadway Theatre on March 22, 1956, and ran for 383 performances before closing on February 23, 1957. With a three-page "prop inventory" bound in at the rear. Based on a story by Will Glickman and Joseph Stein about an entertainer, and his struggles in show business, and conceived as a vehicle for Sammy Davis Jr. Davis' performance received rave reviews and helped to launch him beyond night clubs and into the superstardom he would see by the end of the decade. Red titled Hart Duplicating Service wrappers. Title page present, with credits for writers Joseph Stein and Will Glickman and composers/lyricists Jerry Bock, Larry Holofcener, and George Weiss. 85 leaves, with last page of text numbered "PROP INVENTORY - 2." Mimeograph duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good Plus, with some slight staining, wrapper Near Fine, bound with two silver screw brads.
