About this Item: Collins, 1980. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Book, binding and d/j are in very good condition. with little appreciable wear. On the fore edge margin of ten pages, there is a minor - yet discernable - waving to ten pages half way down the fore edge and approximately one inch in length. There are no stains/folds or the like accompanying these ten 'wavy' edges but they can be detected unless the book is closed tightly, at which point they disappear. The d/j is not price clipped. This is the rarest of the Aubrey/Maturin books: The Fortunes of War, which preceded this book, was remaindered and Collins decided to cut back on its run of this book as a precaution.
