Item Description: Imperial Chemical Industries PLC, Cheshire, England, 1982. Hardback. Book Condition: Very Good. Barrie Dean (illustrator). 1st Edition. BOOK DESCRIPTION : 1982, ICI, 1st Edition hardback of 334 pages with diagrams, illustrations, graphs, and charts etc.; with two interpretation cards at the back of the book; in Very Good overall Condition. Please note ISBN is for the paperback version and that no ISBN was given for this hardback version. Medical students teacher, Derek Rowlands, continues the study of interpreting the results of electrocardiograms in this second volume which focusses on morphological abnormalities of the heart. The electrocardiogram can provide greater or lesser degrees of information about the structure, shape, orientation, size and state of health of the atrial and ventricular myocardium of the human heart. It can also provide information about the heart's "rhythm" (direction, timing, sequence etc.). In the majority of electrocardiograms morphology and rhythm are accorded separate status. This entire volume is concerned with morphological rather than rhythm information, and unless otherwise stated, normal sinus rhythm is assumed. The book has been arranged so that students/medics can acquire knowledge about a specific area of morphological abnormality for the sake of expediency. However, it is recommended that supplemental chapters be read first of all. The chapters follow a logical sequence of understanding. Coverage includes : how to use this book; introduction; intraventricular conduction disturbances; ventricular hypertrophy; atrial hypertrophy; ischaemic heart disease; miscellaneous abnormalities; multiple and complex abnormalities; practical aids in ECG interpretation; criteria for some of the commoner or more important abnormalities; systematic interpretation of ECG and normal criteria for adults; the 12 lead ECG - annotated records; annotated records from Section 1 : reports; epilogue. The 2 reference cards at the back of the book are entitled : systematic interpretation of ECG and normal criteria for adults; and, criteria for some of the commoner or more important abnormalities. BOOK CONDITION : VG : slight signs of rubbing/shelfwear to covers which are otherwise in good shape; page faces near original white; inside pages excellent with preserved whites, colours and tones; binding strong and secure. --- Shipping Note --- Please note that this is a very heavy book. If you are ordering for a postal destination outside the UK, or want rapid delivery within the UK, there will be some additional postage. ***** At the time of listing, we also have the other 2 volumes to this set in hardback for sale.D8 Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
