About this Item: Empire Pub, CA, 1993. Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Limited Edition. Cream cloth boards with gilt Mae West signature stamped on cover. Gilt text on spine. Tinted-purple pictorial jacket with light creasing along edges. Front board displays signs of wear - small spots of dirt, raised spots in cloth near bottom and spine. Rear board is dotted with small stains and what look like pen or pencil marks that have imprinted into cover. None of this affects the text block or the spine, which are in near-fine condition. The book is a delightful, very large photographic survey of Miss West's career with accompanying recollections by her personal secretary, Tim Malachosky. Signed collector's edition of 2000, celebrating the 100-year anniversary of West's birth. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # ros15084

Profusely illustrated with both color and b/w reproductions of photographs of Mae west throughout her life. They portray her at home, at work on set, and with many other famous icons such as Noah Barry, Cary Grant, Helen Hayes, Adolph Zukor, Marlene Dietrich, Gary Cooper and Emanuel Cohen, W.C. Fields, Groucho Marx, and many, many others. As the introduction explains, "Tim Malachosky served Mae West during her final ten years as private secretary, confidant and friend. Sensing the importance of her comments and recollections, Tim included many, verbatim, in his diaries. while many claim a certain knowledge of the star, Tim Malachosky is the foremost living authority on Mae West."
