Item Description: Good News Publishers, United States, 2014. Pamphlet. Book Condition: New. 137 x 86 mm. Language: English . Brand New Book. What first comes to mind when you hear the name Jesus? Perhaps a church steeple or a cross or maybe even angry profanity. But who is Jesus really? Most of us recognize that there is something special abou the man Jesus, whose birth many celebrate every Christmas. Some see him as a great teacher, or a prophet, or the greatest man who ever lived. But he is much more than that. Here s how God s special book to mankind, the Bible, describes him. He is Deity In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God (John 1:1-2). He is eternal; he has always existed. Jesus Christ is infinite. He is the Creator For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth.all things were created through him and for him (Colossians 1:16). He is the Savior He is both man and God, uniquely qualifying him to be the one mediator between God and men [mankind].who gave himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5-6). Though the wages of sin is death.the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). Only Jesus can make possible forgiveness of our sins and acceptance by the God whom we have offended and disobeyed. He did this by dying on the cross for us--taking the punishment we deserve as sinners. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree.Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous [us], that he might bring us to God (1 Peter 2:24; 3:18). HOW WILL YOU RESPOND? Will you ignore him? [Jesus] was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him (John 1:10). With all the tinsel of Christmas, it s easy to blow right past the reason for the celebration--the birth of the one who came to rescue us from our sins. Jesus Christ was one of us and lived on this planet for 33 years. Have you been ignoring Jesus? Don t let this Christmas pass by without recognizing why Jesus came. Will you reject him? John 1:11 describes the attitude of many: He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. Jesus came to the people who should have known him best, but they wanted nothing to do with him. How about you? We too reject him because we don t want to own up to our sins and our needs of forgiveness. And yet in love he continues to reach out to us with undeserved kindness. Or will you receive him? Even though most people during his years on earth didn t receive Jesus, to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12). Receive: Those who receive Christ welcome him into their lives, asking him for forgiveness and new life. Jesus is God s gift to us at Christmas. Believe: Biblical belief involves more than intellectual assent or an emotional response. To believe means to put our trust in Christ for God s forgiveness of our sins. It also means to trust him to give you the gift of eternal life and a future home in heaven with God forever. If you have never done so, personally respond to Jesus Christ and let him make you a new person from the inside out today. Tell him your own words or use this prayer as a guide to express your belief in Jesus as your Savior: Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. With all my heart I believe you died on the cross for my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. Come into my life, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen. Bookseller Inventory # AAC9781682162729

Item Description: Good News Publishers, United States, 2013. Pamphlet. Book Condition: New. 135 x 89 mm. Language: English . Brand New Book. Will I See You at the Top? I have always been a hard-working, optimistic, enthusiastic, highly-motivated individual. Growing up I learned to play it straight, keep my word, and follow through. And for some reason, I always wanted to come out on top. Working for Success My mother taught me the value of work. When my dad died he left Mama with 12 children. Six of us were too young to work, but Mama expected us to do what we could to help. From the fifth grade until I graduated from high school, I worked at the Piggly Wiggly every afternoon after school and every Saturday. During those years, the men I worked for treated me like a son while teaching me how to sell, run an honest business, and enjoy life even in hard times. After high school graduation and a hitch in the Navy, I married Jean Abernathy--the Redhead and love of my life. Not long after, I dropped out of college to take a job selling cookware. Unfortunately, the next 25 years were characterized by ups and downs, mainly due to my habit of taking better sales opportunities. I moved my growing family near and far to suit my latest sure thing sales career. My dream of speaking full-time was born in 1950, and my opportunities to give motivational talks and teach sales courses increased over the years. Going Nowhere Fast But at age 45, due to several serious business setbacks, I was broke, in debt, and my career as a speaker was going nowhere. Despite my remarkable lack of success, I was still confident--to the point of arrogance--in what I was capable of doing. Yet nothing I had done qualified me to be that optimistic! In 1972, while speaking at a small sales convention, everyone kept telling me about their top sales lady, Ann Anderson. When I met her she started talking about Sister Jessie, an elderly black lady that Ann said she owed most of her success to. Out of curiosity, after the convention the Redhead and I drove with Ann to meet this remarkable lady. Some things she said struck me profoundly, and we invited her and Ann to spend the upcoming July 4th weekend with us at our home. Sister Jessie arrived talking about Jesus Christ, and for nearly three days that is all she talked about. She made a very convincing and persuasive case! Needing a Life Makeover Like most people, I had always felt that I could build a ladder of good works and climb my way up to heaven. Sister Jessie showed us from the Bible that wasn t possible. For the first time ever I understood that Christ is not A way to heaven; he is THE way. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). Our self-efforts are futile: the Bible says that None is righteous, no, not one (Romans 3:10). God had to come down to earth in the person of Jesus Christ to seek out sinners like me and give them eternal life. The sinless Christ took on our sins when he died on the cross, so we could be freed from the condemnation our sins deserve. Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13). Jesus himself promised, Whoever hears my word and believes him [God] who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life (John 5:24). Religion is spelled do. Christianity is spelled done. When Christ arose from the grave, it was proof that the price for our sins had been paid in full. The way you come to know Jesus is to admit that you are a sinner, and trust completely in him to give you forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and a new start. That s how you secure your eternity at the top --in heaven. As Jesus said about those who believe in him, I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand (John 10:28). That confirmation gives me incredible peace of mind. Giving Proper Credit After that weekend with Sister Jessie, the change in my life was total, dramatic, and overwhelming. Perhaps the most s. Item Description: Dover Publications Inc., United States, 2011. Paperback. Book Condition: New. 208 x 132 mm. Language: English . Brand New Book. In recent years the stirring, unforgettable poetry of Jal?lu l-D?n R?m? (1207-1273), the great S?fi teacher and the greatest mystical poet of Iran, has gained tremendous popularity in the western world. Although he died over 700 years ago, his poetry is timeless. In the best modern translations, the passion and playfulness of his words reach across the ages to communicate themselves to people today with an undiluted fervor and excitement. R?m? produced an enormous body of work -- as many as 2,500 mystical odes, 25,000 rhyming couplets, and 1,600 quatrains -- some of it instructional, some personal and emotional, much of it sublimely beautiful. The present volume includes over 100 of his finest lyrics, including The Marriage of True Minds, The Children of Light, The Man who Looked Back on his way to Hell, The Ascending Soul, The Pear-Tree of Illusion, The Riddles of God, and many more. In some of these poems, says A. J. Arberry in the Introduction, the mystic s passion is so exuberant, his imagination so overflowing, that we catch glimpses of the very madness of Divine experience.
