His passion for folklore, classic literary fiction and obscure segments within society lead to his creative writing style of filling in the gaps and walking the line between reality and fiction. With a strong inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker and Dante Alighieri, his stories involve topics and situations where very little is known, which provides an open canvas to explore. He is an active member of the Florida Writer s Association and hopes to rejuvenate the classical era of horror one story at a time. GREG MOLLIN is a fiction writer living in Orange County, California. He has been involved in everything from hardcore punk music to graphic design and even a stint as writer/performer on a popular cable television sketch comedy show. His short story, The Monster on Myers Avenue was recently published in Dark Moon Digest #3. He is currently at work on his first novel. CYNTHIA (cina) PELAYO grew up in a haunted house with very superstitious parents. So, a lifelong fascination with Gothic literature, romantic horror and the macabre seemed fitting. Pelayo holds a genuine curiosity for superstition, folklore and myth. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Columbia College, a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication from Roosevelt University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a member of the Horror Writer s Association and is also the Publisher/Gravedigger at Burial Day Books. She wears black - most of the time and she stays out of the sun as much as (un)humanly possible. GERARDO PELAYO is the Undertaker at Burial Day Books and is a lifelong Chicagoan who got his Bachelor of Science at DeVry Technical Institute. He also holds a Master of Applied Science from Roosevelt University. He writes code by day and well writes code by night. He tweets daily random facts, and his obsessions are comic books, fantasy baseball, and BBQ. Follow him on twitter Undertaker. MARC RUVOLO works and resides in Chicago, IL where he writes short fiction, performs music, and skulks in gloomy lanes when not attending to his day job as a disgruntled shopkeep. About this Item: Ridgefield, CT: CPC Publishing, 1989. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. Unpaginated. Published in 1989. The photographer's breakthrough collection of celebrity portraits and male and female nudes. The First Hardcover Edition. Precedes and should not be confused with the Second Edition. Published in a small and limited first print run as a hardcover original only. Volume One of the landmark two-volume set. Each volume was published separately, ten years apart from each other in fact, and by different publishers. The reason they nevertheless work perfectly together is that Greg Gorman maintained full creative control over the production of both. The First Edition is now rare. A stunningly beautiful production by Greg Gorman and Gary Johns: Oversize-volume format. Photographs by Greg Gorman. There is minimal text. Printed on pristine-white, thick uncoated stock paper by the legendary Rapaport Printing Company New York to the highest standards. In pictorial DJ, which utilizes a male nude in front and a celebrity portrait on the back, and white titles on the spine, as issued. Presents "Greg Gorman: Volume I". His finest and most representative images in the two genres that he has excelled and established himself in: The celebrity portrait and the nude. Dramatically lit black-and-white, full-page photographs of celebrities are juxtaposed with spectacular, highly erotic nudes, including the now-classic six-panel fold-out of the model Tony Ward in different Classical Sculpture-inspired, full-frontal nude poses. The celebrity portraits include Al Pacino, David Bowie, Charlie Sheen, Warren Beatty, Madonna, Rupert Everett, Pee-Wee Herman, Kim Basinger, Robin Williams, Andy Warhol, and Michael Jackson, among many others. An accomplished Hollywood and lifestyle magazine photographer who has done commercial work for HBO, Columbia Pictures, Interview Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Playboy Magazine, LIFE, and Tatler, among others, Greg Gorman's true passions are the charismatic personality of the celebrity and the chiseled perfection of the human form, as only the (his) camera can capture. This breakthrough collection offers definitive and ample proof of Greg Gorman's distinctive style and outstanding mastery of his chosen medium. An absolute "must-have" title for Greg Gorman collectors. This copy is very prominently and beautifully signed, dated, and inscribed in black pen on the flyleaf by the photographer: "Thanks for coming and also for your interest in my work. I hope we can do more projects together in the future. All my best, Greg Gorman 3/27/90". It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. Gorman's handwriting is unusually clean, flowing, and elegant. The recipient is named, and was one of Greg Gorman's most important commercial clients. This title is a contemporary erotic art photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only such signed and inscribed copy of the First Hardcover Edition/First Printing of Volume One available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. Please note: Gorman did not sign most copies of the book. Copies available online have major flaws yet command more than $500. A rare signed copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with duotone plates. One of the finest American photographers of our time. A fine collectible copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER GREG GORMAN TITLES IN OUR CATALOG) ISBN 1871681006. Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 12125
