Historical fiction, the Second Part of a Trilogy about Abraham Lincoln--the story of the last two years of the Civil War, reflecting the drama of the battlefield and the tense scenes as President Lincoln fought with his Cabinet, Congress, and the newspapers. Black cloth binding with gilt titles on spine, and debossed gilt titles on front. Blind stamped coin design with a portrait of the Lincolns, on the front panel. There are some brownish pin-point marks on the front on the side nearer the fore edge. Generally quite clean. Light wear to extremities. Prev owner inscription on endpaper. Pale stain to front endpapers. Inner hinge is cracked, with slight wobble to spine. Sewn binding remains tight and solid. Pages are clean, clear, completely unmarked. Page 239-240 has three little chips on the center fore edge. Very good shape for this not too easy to find older book.
