Both letters folded, one with stamp from the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. To John Forsell: "Ihr liebenswürdiges Telegramm ist mir eine große Sylvesterfreude! Vielen herzlichen Dank, ganz besonders auch Ihren ausgezeichneten Künstlern, die Arabella zu einem so schönen Erfolge gebracht haben! [.]" (31. XII. 1933). - "Herr Kurt Atterberg hatte die Güte, mir Ihre freundliche Einladung bezüglich der Uraufführung meiner neuen Oper: Die schweigsame Frau in Stockholm zu übermitteln. So sehr ich die mir zugedachte Ehre zu schätzen weiss, so ist es mir doch zu meinem größten Bedauern nicht möglich, Ihren freundlichen Wünschen zu willfahren. Die Uraufführung ist seit langer Zeit vertraglich schon an Dresden vergeben [.]" (18.
