About this Item: Zürich : Scalo, 2006. Condition: Gut. 143 S.; 30 cm. Gutes Ex.; Umschl. etwas berieben u. kl. Einriß. - Titelblatt mit Widmung und SIGNIERT von Esther Haase. // Esther Haase (* 20. Sie porträtierte u. a. 2010 erschien das Buch Rock'n'Old. About this Item: NP, NP, 2007. Hardcover. Condition: g+ to vg. First edition. Large quarto. 116, [6]pp. Original photo-illustrated dust-jacket over black cloth, with gold lettering on spine and front cover. Pictorial endpapers. Verso of front free endpaper inscribed and signed by Paul Robinson: "For AZ! You rule! Thank you so much for everything. You made my life much much easier. You are awesome!" Paul Robinson's "In Camera" presents multiple exposures, combining images of architecture, textures, and portraits on a single frame of film; culminating in a panoramic combination of lyrical and mysterious beauty. Robinson's friend and longtime collector of his work, Academy Award-winner Sydney Pollack, says "It's been exciting to watch [Paul's] photographic journey, through the black and white stark images of his earlier work, into the more and more abstract and dreamlike color cityscapes and triptychs that came later, and then on further, still evolving, to watch him find his own distinct photographic eye." Pollack also wrote the forward to this book, which is Robinson's first book. Minor shelf wear. Slight age-toning along paper margin. Dust-jacket and interior in overall good+ to very good, binding in very good condition. About the author: Hailed by The New York Press as the Helmut Newton of the photography world's new "Brat Pack," world renowned photographer Paul Robinson continues to take art photography to new heights. Without formal training, Robinson began as a self-taught fashion photographer in Paris. After carving out a name for himself within the art community, Paul then parlayed his work shooting stills of Oprah for various commercials into doing unit photography on various feature films. Through his work in the film industry, Robinson became recognized as one of the most talented celebrity portrait photographers and was featured in some of the market's top magazines including Details, Detour, Elle, Interview, Flaunt, George, Live, Out, House & Garden, and Architectural Digest. Working for some the biggest stars in Hollywood, Robinson has built an illustrious client roster that includes Renee Zellweger, Jennifer Tilly, David Arquette, Ella Fitzgerald, B.B. King, Melissa Ethridge, Noah Wyle, The Beastie Boys, and Dermot Mulroney, among others. Many of his celebrity clients are also fans, collecting various works from his exhibits. Paul Robinson's work has often been described as aggressive, sexual and unapologetic for any moral transgressions that might be inferred. His first exhibit, "Voyeur," became one of the hottest events in L.A. and New York as the guest lists became a virtual "who's who" of the creative community. Combining a varied collection of black and white photos, the exhibit featured celebrity portraits of the young hot actors of today shot in a 1940s style, a jazz series of intimate moments with legendary musicians, and original, definitive images. Robinson followed this up with "Manfleur," another huge success in which he used human subjects as props, intertwined with exotic flowers. E! Entertainment produced several segments, chronicling the eighteen months of shooting he did for the exhibit. Finding inspiration in his travels around the world, Paul Robinson exhibits regularly in London, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. Robinson's show "LOVEEVERLAST," a black, white and colored interpretation of love, once again received national attention. Sponsored by Absolut Vodka, those in attendance included Renee Zellweger, Melissa Ethridge, Lawrence Bender, Bruce Cohen, and many other collectors of contemporary photography. Robinson's next collection of photos, "Reflections," became his most successful yet, capturing the moods of cities around the world including Paris, Rome, Florence, and Bangkok, to name a few. His latest series, "Transparent" represents the latest evolution in Robinson's work in layering multiple images and is a seamless hybrid of photography and painting. Exploring various themes, each piece is printed on transparency, blending different cities and people from disparate lo. Seller Inventory # 38226

A former assistant and friend of Helmut Newton`s, Loomis worked in the eighties as a fashion photographer for magazines such as Harper`s Bazaar and The New York Times Magazine. Turning in 1990 to portraiture and documentary photography, his pictures present a raw and honest view of everyday life in America: a waitress behind the counter of a Hollywood fast-food restaurant, a young couple full of hope, or children caught in moments of transition. John Bates came onto the London Fashion scene like a bolt of blue light, trailing sparks of excitement, designing the shortest skirts, the swiftest shapes, the surest colours. He had an unswerving instinct for what was new, modern, cutting edge. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, John Bates dominated the British fashion scene with a unique brand of style and innovation. No other designer had such a comprehensive influence on what the UK wore. Diana Rigg wore his designs in The Avengers, and the press went wild. Cilla Black and Dusty Springfield sang in them; Jean Shrimpton, Twiggy and Penelope Tree modeled; David Bailey, Terence Donovan and Helmut Newton photographed. At every level, from shop girl to pop star, debutante and banker's wife, his label Jean Varon offered a must-have dress for a party, short or long, empire line or mini. He gave fashion-conscious women the chance to wear dresses featured extensively in the pages of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and Queen Magazine and bridged the gap between High Street retailing and couture like no other. Richard Lester runs a vintage clothing business and trained with Sotheby's. John Bates Inscription. Seller Inventory # 025678

About this Item: Condition: Wie neu. Forlaget Press. 2011. First edition, first printing. New, mint, unread; only opened once for signature. Paperback. 254 x 292 mm. 110 pages. Text in english. Signed by the artist! In an age of music videos whose rate of viral spread eclipses that of any other music format, the 1985 video for a-ha`s immortal synth-pop hit "Take on Me" endures as one of the classics of the genre. As new generations discover the greatness of a-ha, photographer Just Loomis, who shot the cover images for five a-ha albums, and who has been documenting the band since the glory days of "Take on Me," publishes his superb collection of never-before-seen a-ha photographs. "Just Loomis, born 1957 in Reno, Nevada, produced his first photographs in the seventies between the railroad tracks and casinos of his birthplace, Reno, images that tell of life in this town in the American West. As June Newton states, "He understands them, as he comes from the same place. These pictures are without artifice of any kind . . . . About this Item: Stonehill Publishing Company, New York, 1976. Cloth in Pictorial Dust Jacket. Condition: Good +. First Edition. 128pp, 55 illustrations in color and b&w. Designed by Bea Feitler. Published in 1976, "White Women" was the very first survey in book form of Helmut Newton's decadence-laden images originally primarily created as editorial work for French, British and American "Vogue", "Vogue Homme", "Oui", "Playboy", and "Stern". Amongst the immediately recognizable subjects here are Charlotte Rampling, Veruschka Lehndorff, Elsa Peretti, Loulou de la Falaise, Karl Lagerfeld, Paloma Picasso, David Hockney, Annie Duperey, June Newton, and the photographer himself. An internally handsome example (cited on page 93 of "From Fair to Fine 2") only of the 1984 Stonehill American first hardbound edition additionally bearing the BOLDLY SIGNED PRESENTATION "For Jan / Helmut Newton" in blue and red ink across the title page showing some mild discoloration across the edges of the cloth covers along with some dampstaining and rippling to the rear cover and top edge of the last several pages. The dust jacket also shows some attendant discoloration and dampstaining along the top edge of the rear panel as well as a short closed tear at the upper foredge corner on the front. And in a quirky turn of events, Newton began the inscription with a blue pen that seems to have malfunctioned, and so the front pastedown shows several spirals and attempts to get the ink to flow properly before presumably switching to the red pen that constitutes all but the initial "F" of the final presentation. Still in all this is a most presentable inscribed copy of this significant title that looks far better in hand than it describes. It has been priced accordingly. PLEASE NOTE: Additional shipping costs are required for this item beyond our standard rates due to its weight and value - we will inform you of the applicable amount at time of purchase. Signed Presentation Copy from the Photographer. Photography Monograph. Seller Inventory # 024337
