SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on the blank verso of the frontispiece. The 13-year-old author's experiences traveling to the Arctic with an expedition led by his father, publisher George P. Putnam. The expedition was sponsored by the American Museum of Natural History. This was the younger Putnam's second book, following "David Goes Voyaging" (1925), which recounted his visit to the Galapagos Islands.
