Paperback. Special Edition. Near Fine in Wraps: just about perfect, but there is a small, superficial scar at the upper middle of the front panel, where a price sticker has been removed. The binding remains perfectly secure; the text clean. No longer absolutely pristine, but remains very close to 'As New'. Not a remainder. NOT a Book-Club or Ex-Library. 8vo. 80pp.Liberally illustrated in black & white. (General Care and Maintenance Series). Special Edition. Paperback: Staple-bound Wraps. This short (80 pgs) book is exactly what the subtitle says "The general care and maintenance of tarantulas & scorpions." Although there are no color photos the black and white photos are okay but more importantly is the information the author places between the pics. The table of contents is as follows: Part One: Tarantulas: introduction, general information, selecting tarantulas, housing and maintenance, maintenance, feeding, molting, handling, breeding, raising captive bred tarantulas, notes on popular species, diseases and disorders; Part Two: Scorpions: general information, housing and maintenance, feeding, handling, breeding, notes on popular species, scorpions: source materials. A nice feature is that under the general information of the tarantulas and scorpions sections he explains sexing. Filled with good ideas and suggestions this book will be treasured by anyone beginning with these fascinating animals. Doubtless, if you are a serious hobbyist of tarantulas and/or scorpions you should own this book.

First Edition
Paperback. First Edition, unstated. Near Fine in Wraps: just about perfect, except for the mildest rubbing and very faint soiling near the lower front corner. The binding remains perfectly secure; the text clean. No longer absolutely pristine, but remains virtually 'As New'. Not a remainder. NOT a Book-Club or Ex-Library. 8vo. 60pp. Liberally illustrated in black & white. (General Care and Maintenance Series: The Herpetocultural Library Series, Special Edition). First Edition, unstated. Paperback: Staple-bound Wraps. Although somewhat small in size and length (especially at a first glance), this book is packed with great, surplus information about every factor that makes up corn snakes and their appearance. It first gives a short explanation of what a corn snake is and details about the general species, and then goes straight into what makes up and causes corn snakes' coloring and markings. This book explains all types of corn snake morphs, phases, mutations, changes, and more about how different-looking kinds of these snakes surface and how they occur. It even explains breeding techniques and possibilities for breeding such different phases, morphs, and mutations. I keep and breed corns snakes, and this book helped me out a lot. McEachern has had a LOT of experience with these snakes, and I don't know if I could have gotten far without this book. By far the best corn snake manual around! I learned a lot about keeping and breeding corns's best for those who are interested in collecting and even breeding these colorful kinds and varieties of snakes, as it explains much of that subject. So altogether, I believe this book is one of the best for explaining it's subject clearly and thoroughly, and there aren't many books that could have contained more information or explained it better.

First Edition
Paperback. Second Edition [1998]. Very Good+ in Wraps: just a touch of wear to the extremitie and some faint creases newar the outside edge of the front panel. The binding remains square and perfectly secure;the text clean. No longer absolutely pristine, but remains very close to 'As New'. This is a REMAINDER, showing a small mark at the bottom edge. NOT a Book-Club or Ex-Library. 8vo. 75pp.Liberally illustrated in color. (General Care and Maintenance Series: The Herpetocultural Library). Second Edition [1998]. The first edition was published in 1992. Paperback: Pictorial Wraps. This is an excellent book for beginners to keeping Green Iguanas. Though quite commonly sold as pets, decent, correct information about their care is rare. The pictures are both captivating and illustrative. It's hard to find reliable care books for reptiles these days. This is probably the best Green Iguana book out there. Information on harmful products to avoid , cutting edge health remedies, which brands of UVB light are best, very explicit and dirty issues with housing Iguanas with other species, information on better insects such as silkworms (we need to abolish meal worms and wax worms already, folks!), and things about Green Iguana diets one must know (such as why pet store vitamins may be bad and why canned or commerical diets are a joke). The information is specific and accurate. Anyone who really knows lizards will recommend this book. It was the first reptile care book I ever bought and it makes everything you need to know about these lizards conveniently (and affordably) available.
