Jesús González Dávila fue un actor, guionista, dramaturgo, director de teatro y cine mexicano. González estudió derecho y humanidades en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y se graduó de la escuela de arte dramático del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA). Debutó como actor en 1963. De 1967 a 1970 trabajó en teatro infantil con niños de la calle en su ciudad natal. En 1970 escribió su primer guión de "La fábrica de los juguetes" para el IV Festival de Bellas Artes y luego trabajó también en el campo cinematográfico. A partir de 1977 toma clases en los talleres de dramaturgia de Hugo Argüelles Cano y posteriormente con Vicente Leñero Otero. En su papel como guionista de cine escribió los scripts de películas como Noches de angustia y Viaje al paraíso, entre otras. También fue funcionario público, siendo director de los teatros del Instituto Mexicano de Seguro Social (IMSS), en donde promovió la construcción masiva de teatros públicos, alcanzando 38 recintos. En los años 60 colaboró de cerca con el escritor Vicente Leñero, con el que realizó diversas obras como la versión teatral de Los albañiles y de Los hijos de Sánchez, entre otras.
