A very good copy, with minor bruising at the corners and spine tips. Previous owner's bookplates on the half-title and it's facing page. Binding is solid and the pages are clean and unmarked. Jacket is also very good, with sunning to the spine panel and some creasing at the fold edges. 593 pp., some b/w illustrations, index, notes.

Originally published by the Pennsylvania State University Press. Reprinted by Olde Soldier Books Inc. Title page dated 1958. Copyright page dated 1987. 276 pages.
