Trade Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Paperback Edition. 268 Pages. Very light wear to cover edges and corners. One word previous owner's name on the title page. No other marks or stamps to tight book with flawless interior text pages. First published in Vienna in 1946. This paperback edition published in London in 2004. In this book Dr Frankl revolutionized psychotherapy with his theory of logotherapy. Viktor Frankl's work has being described as the most important contributions in the field of psychotherapy since the days of Freud, Adler and Jung. In The Doctor and the Soul Dr Frankl maintains that the individual's most important need is to find meaning in life and the frustration of this need results in neurosis, suffering and despair. A doctor's work lies in finding personal meaning in a patient's life, no matter how dismal the circumstances of the life. Dr Viktor Frankl was the leading figure of the Third Viennese School of Psychotherapy. He was born in Vienna in 1905 and on being freed from Dachau concentration camp found that his family had been almost entirely wiped out in the Holocaust. He went on to hold professorships at universities around the world, including Harvard University and the University of Vienna. Viktor Frankl survived three years in the concentration camps of Dachau and Auschwitz. On the basis of his experiences there, he went on to found a new school of psychotherapy, Logotherapy.

ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (S/hand, Hardcover, 1987). 1987 1st edition. 8vo (140 x 222mm). Pp205. B/w illustrations by Judy Whittlestone and the author, maps. Green boards, spine titled in silver-gilt. Slightly bumped and browned. Good-plus in used dust-wrapper. Memories of coarse and flyfishing in Derbyshire. "As a boy he fished the canals and ponds around Stanton-by-Dale, usually with bread as bait, and he can still recall the thrill of his first catch, a gudgeon weighing all of three ounces. In adulthood he learned to use a fly rod and would spend his weekends, with his friends Arnie, Syd and George, wooing the brown trout in the river Derwent, revelling in the closely fought contests between fish and man. Vividly he recreates an idyllic world of flowing water, lush meadows and reed-fringed banks; of water voles cavorting in quiet pools, the contented calls of moorhen and mallard and, above all, the magic of water ringed with trout rising to the fly in the dusk of a summer evening." .
