Master Albert 0. Geraldi served in the U.S. Special Forces (Green Beret) during the Vietnam War, instructing foreign military forces such as the Vietnamese Rangers, Mountain Tribesmen, and a Chinese mercenary unit, which has given him a broad knowledge of the Asian fighting arts. While stationed on Okinawa, he studied and received his black belt in Okinawan karate under Grand Master Taika Oyata in his Machiminato Dojo and won the prestigious all-Okinawan full-contact championship. After returning to the United States, Mr. Geraldi was an instrumental force in establishing Taika Oyata in the U.S. and became one of his senior instructors. In 1984, he was awarded ,an 8th degree Black Belt under Taika Oyata. Mr. Geraldi's experience includes 27 years as a decorated New York City, Police Officer and Defensive Tactics Academy Instructor. During this time, he received the F.B.I.'s Advanced Tactics Top Instructor and a John Jay College of Criminal Justice Fitness Specialist Certification, and was also a speaker for New York City Mayor's Task Force on Rape Prevention. Mr. Geraldi has appeared on the cover of Official Karate Magazine and on several television programs such as "The Maury Povich Show," "Eye on Crime," and "The Cable Forum." For more than 20 years he has owned and operated three dojos in the New York area. Currently, he lives in Florida with his wife, Donna, an ex-police officer and 5th Degree Black Belt. Both are Licensed D.I. Instructors. Mr. Geraldi is the President of Zenkoku Ryukyu Kempo Karate-Do Renmei, a Ryukyu Kell*" international organization, and the Zenkoku Martial Arts Retreat Center in Florida. Signed by Author.
