Condition: Very good. NEA, Inc., 1975., 1975. Very good. - An original pen & ink drawing consisting of 3 panels drawn on 7 inch high by 18 inch wide art paper. Seated beneath a tree, Priscilla's friend Hollyhock tells her "My book says the human body has 206 bones!". Although it "sounds creepy" to Priscilla, her dog Oliver disagrees "I think it sounds delicious!" The syndicate's credits, printed on a strip of paper, are mounted vertically along the right edge of the last panel. Signed by Al Vermeer along the left edge of the last panel with the date "5-12" penned at bottom right of that panel and at bottom left of the first panel. The art work is mounted with glue into a black mat with foam board backing. Very good. The American cartoonist Al Vermeer (1911-1980) started his career as a sports writer and subsequently drew sport illustrations for the San Francisco News. He created "Priscilla's Pop" as a Sunday strip for the Newspaper Enterprise Association though a daily strip was soon added. Vermeer drew the strip until retiring in 1976, after which Edmund R. Sullivan took it over.
