Item Description: The Folio Society, London, 1993. Hardcover. Book Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Excellent clean crisp 9 volume set in two separate matching slip-cases, with pictorial Sherlock Holmes and Conan Doyle profile portraits made up from the book spine artwork, tan and dark brown cloth with gilt spine titling. Books are virtually mint, no bumps, scuffs or markings or such. The bindings are all snap-shut tight, never read, though "The Return" has a binding flaw where the crease to the front hinge is not well formed, perhaps a little too much glue was used as the hinge is unusually tight. Not noticable from the front so doesn't spoil lovely shelf appeal. Slipcases with one slight corner-bump at the back, one slight edge ding and a few light dusky marks. Gilt on end panels is slightly faded but still shiny nd nice looking. These two part sets were issued separately in 1993 and 1994, the four-volume 1994 issue is by far the scarcer though in appearance the sets are completely matching. Price includes the extra for worldwide air-priority shipping for this heavy set. Size: 8vo. Bookseller Inventory # L16966
