Paperback. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Good condition paperback pictorial cover laminated no DJ. 322 pages good and clean with clear print, indexed. Many black and white photographs: Douglas with his men, playing golf, Inside an aircraft showing the controls and dials, and much much more. 'The memorable story of a real hero of the skies, a man who became a legend around the world. Douglas Bader was not onloy a daring pilot but a fine air warfare tactician and leader of men. In 1941 he developed the legendary 'finger-four', the small unit of fliers upon which British fighter tactics for the rest of the war were based. Even after his retirement his techniques were followed throughout the RAF, and many of the men who flew with Bader went on to become some of the best aviators of the Second World War.
