    First Edition - American. Signed and inscribed by the author / director Ingmar Bergman. This copy was presented to Bob Thomas, legendary Hollywood correspondent for the Associated Press. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: ÒTo Bob Thomas from Ingmar BergmanÓ. Illustrated. Fine copy in a very good plus dust jacket with some minor fading to the spine and a few tiny tears and a trace of edge wear. An in-depth profile of the great Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman (1918 - 2007) whose acclaimed body of work includes such classics as Smiles of a Summer Night, The Seventh Seal, The Virgin Spring, Through a Glass Darkly, Wild Strawberries, Persona, Hour of the Wolf, etc. Robert ÔBobÕ Thomas (1922 - 2014) worked primarily as a film industry reporter for the Associated Press and as a biographer of such Hollywood legends as Liberace, Walter Winchell, Joan Crawford, Maron Brando, Walt Disney, William Holden, Irving Thalberg, and Bing Crosby. For contributions to the motion picture industry, Thomas received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, becoming the first author-reporter to be given this honor.
