Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. The quintessential coffee table book of the swinging 60s featuring photos of Britain's top models and actresses. Britain ruled the world again for a brief time in the mid- to late-60s, when it dominated the worlds of music, fashion, film and, of course, soccer. The cover image of Patti Boyd has now become one of the iconic images of that decade - - - - - - - - - This is a first American Macmillan edition comes in non-price clipped jacket and is a exceptionally rare signed copy. The book condition is good with shelf wear to the edges and rubbing to the spine tail/corners. There is some bleaching to the green fabric and spine a little loose but solid - contents generally very good for age. Dust jacket has chipping along edges, spine ends/sides - a little de-lamination here, a couple of 1 ½ inch closed tears and a triangular ½ inch chipping to the back (matched coloured paper loose laid behind to disguise) it is now protected by an archival cover. It has a dedication on the first page 'To David, In loving memory A miss spent youth - My love Pamela' and is signed boldly in black pen on the title page under the title 'John d Green' (Martin Parr, The Photobook, vol 2, page 202/203) - - - - - - - - - Please note this book is being sold by Nonpareil Books, Liverpool, England only through AbeBooks. Signed by Author(s).

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. GREEN, John [160] pp. Published by MacMillan, New York. Photography John d Green Art direction: David Tree. The Bodley Head Ltd 1967 14" x 11" The classic Sixties photographic book, with the iconic dust jacket present. A celebration of the Swinging Sixties and of the beautiful, creative girls that put London firmly on the world map as the hippest place to be. "Birds", beautifully photographed by John d Green, include Julie Christie, Susannah York, Hayley Mills, Dusty Springfield, Marianne Faithful, Mary Quant and many more. 'Miniskirts and the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and now the Birds. That means girls - feathery and soft, swinging and defiantly independent. London has cracked out of its sober chrysalis into an ultra visual supersonic capital-of-all-the-arts, London's beautiful girls used to try to look nice - and her nice girls looked invisible. Now the nice girls look exceptional, and the beautiful girls - incredible! The change is one of style rooted in a new attitude, new confidence, and the bravura of the youthquake.'.
