As the title page outlines, Payne offers "A Complete Official Account of the Formation and Organization of the Progressive Party. The Candidates, the Platform, the Principles and the Political, Moral and Industrial Issues". Additional chapters are provided by Gifford Pinchot ("Conservation and the High Cost of Living"), Bertha Rembaugh ("Women Suffrage"); B.F. Harris ("Improvement of Country Life"); William Grant Brown ("High Cost of Living"); Miles Poindexter ("The Tariff"); Oscar Straus ("Honesty in Office") and Medill McCormick ("Four Years of Reactionary Politics"). The book concludes with the addresses of Roosevelt and Albert Beveridge at the first Progressive National Convention and the 1912 platform.
