Hardcover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: As New. 1st Edition. SIGNED and Doodled by author!! Stated First American Edition, First Printing, Full Number-line with # 1 (Knopf, 2006) **APPEARS UNREAD** This book was signed for me in Dallas, Texas at the Barbara Bush Foundation For Literacy event. Photos of Mr. Zusak signing as well as a photo-copy of the event program will be included for authenticity. Mr. Zusak gave the most humble, amazing speech at this event. Note the 'doubling' of his autograph: his pen had a split causing the doubling effect, he quipped that I was getting two autographs for the price of one! The nice thing is the photocopy of my ticket to the event shows this doubling as well. Nice extra provenance! Now, THE BOOK: Hardcovers are As New, sharp corners, Spine is As New. Pages are As New, clean, with no writing or folding. Dust Jacket is As New, Protected in a clear archival sleeve. Price is intact. (This is the true first Hardcover edition, all others came later: (Original Australian Soft-cover first published 2005) (US Hardcover first published in 2006), (UK First Hardcovers {Doubleday and The Bodley Head} published respectively in 2007) **I always ship in a VERY WELL padded box, smoke and odor free.** I have a No Disappointments policy. When I grade a book as "Fine" etc. that is what you will receive. Signed by Author(s).

First edition, first printing. Published by Doubleday in London, 2007. This is a fine copy. The dust wrapper, illustrated by Finn Campbell, has only minor rubbing at the corners and head of the spine. The boards are tight and free from chips and marks, looking immaculate in the publisher's black cloth. The text blocks are immaculate throughout and free from foxing. The marbled endpapers are crisp. The author's signature is present on the full title-page, with the authentic 'doodle of himself' present. It is flat signed, with the doodle, in black ink. A bold signature. Overall, this is a fine copy of a fine title. Exemplary. Adapted into the 2013 feature film, The Book Thief, starring Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson. The novel follows the adventures of young Liesel Meminger. By personifying "Death" as a tangible being who narrates the story, the novel presents a unique perspective into the world of the victims of the war. There are many tangible themes throughout the entire story.
