Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Later printing. illustrations, 251p. Original green cloth. 22 cm. Backstrip slightly browned. Spine slightly sloped. No jacket. INSCRIBED by author on a bookplate formerly taped in on the front free endpaper ("This copy of Carry On Mr. Bowditch is autographed by the author Jean Lee Latham for Nancy Howe" -- holograph signature). Old tapemarks and tape present. Inked in an unknown hand at top of front free endpaper: "Jean Lee Latham -- Nana Howe's dear teacher and friend Ithaca College (1931)." Laid in: Single sheet folded to form a narrow 8-page promotional brochure for Latham's various book then in print (undated but probably 1963) and SIGNED by Latham ("Jean Lee Latham") beneath her photo on the first page; and (2) Signed 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" glossy photo of the author (appears to be of college age) which is signed in the lower left corner ("Just 'Jimmy' JLL"). So, overall, a signed copy of her Newberry-winning novel accompanied by two other items signed by Latham, including a probably quite uncommon early photo of Latham.
